Fall Wreath

Want to spruce up your front door with a fall wreath?  I’m trying out something new today and sharing a video that shows you just how to do this.  {With a little help from my dog, Jonzy}  Since videos are new to the site, tell us what you think.  Do you like videos?  Do you prefer them over pictures?  I hope you enjoy!

Fall Inspiration

We’re officially declaring this week Fall Week on Fresh Nest.  Because we love fall, and we hope you do too.  Here in the midwest, it’s already starting to feel cool and crisp.  It’s one of my favorite times of year, and robably has a lot to do with the color palette.  Burnt orange, browns, golden yellows, reds, and changing greens.  I can’t get enough of those colors {seriously, you should see my home… it’s like fall all the time}.

I wanted to start off our fall week with some fall inspiration.  Little DIY projects that you can whip up in a moments time.

Fall Inspiration

 Here’s where you can find these goodies:

  1. Pumpkin book via cheeky magpie
  2. Fall leaves lamp via a little hut
  3. Cute mini pumpkins via Liquid Paper {everything looks better in miniature size}
  4. Fall paper wreath via haru
  5. Leaf coasters via lilfishstudios {bonus: lots of yummy fall inspiration in her flickr stream}

What projects are you working on for fall?  Do you change your decorations when the seasons change?  I love hearing about how other people decorate their homes.

Monday Redesign

Wow!  It looks like #2 won so here it is!  Although the colors look masculine, details like the embroidered ottoman and flower pillow give it a light feminine touch.

Euro Design Scheme

1. Nova Sofa from Bo Concept.  Love the light grey fabric that provides some texture to the room.

2. Main Wall Color:  Benjamin Moore Cloud Cover, Accent Wall Color: Benjamin Moore Flower Power.  This is a nice warm grey and the accent wall will add a bit of color to the room!

3. Blooming Pillows from Two Yellow Shoes on Etsy.  Love these simple graphic pillows and they help to pull our color palette together.

4. Sellersbrook Blue area rug from The Rug Company.  This rug has a great pattern and helps to compliment the light texture of the sofa.

5. Jeannie lamp from Schall Studio and Design.  Add a little pop to the room with these handmade lamps.

6. Fatboy Avenue Ottoman.  Available at Zwello.  Awesome white ottoman with a embroidered top that brings some of the flower motif from the pillows onto the ottoman.

So what do you think?

Monday Redesign-You Pick

Ok, I’m going to try a little something new for Monday’s Redesign!  I need your input!  I’d like to use one of the fall color schemes I put together to do the inspiration board for Monday.  Which one would you like to see?

You choose the Inspiration Board Scheme!

Let me know 1 or 2!  I’ll do an inspiration board based on the scheme with the most votes!

Inspiring Sites of Crafty Goodness

Hello everyone!  We are back.  We had a rough day with the server yesterday {we tried moving over to a new server & things didn’t go as expected}.  But we are back today with some inspiration for you!

I’ve been stumbling upon some really great sites out there that I’d like to share with you.  I am always amazed at how talented people are!

Isly

is•ly is wonderful blog full of goodies.  Melissa is multi-talented.  She can design, she can sew, she can plan parties that knock your socks off, and she’s a great photographer.  Simply said, she is amazing.  I would love to have a little craft day with her.  And by that I mean I would just sit and watch her craft.

Homemade by Jill

Next stop… Homemade by Jill.  She’s a sewing fanatic and darn good at it too.  But that’s not all, she’s super creative- refininshing dressers, and making dressing up curtains.  She would give Martha a run for her money, I think.

 Freshly Picked

Another blog that I’ve been watching for sometime is Freshly Picked.  She’s a wiz with the sewing machine and gives tutorials that blow me away.  She’s been discovered by Martha & would likely do circles around me in my craft room.

I am seeing a theme in the sites I posted about today.  Sewing and ruffles.  Is it a sign?  Maybe I need to learn how to sew.  It’s something I may not be able to avoid for much longer.

So now I’m curious, do you have favorite sites that you like to visit for inspiration?  Feel free to share in the comments below.
