A Happy Holidays to everyone! Today is Christmas Eve and we will be celebrating by spending time with family, baking in the kitchen all day and eating every soup we can think to make {my dad loves to make oyster stew and tries to convince us every year that it’s yummy.} I thought I’d share a favorite treat with you to enjoy this holiday season. It’s really easy, and they taste like you spend all day perfecting them.
OREO TRUFFLES
Ingredients:
White almond bark
1-2 teaspoons of Crisco (solid vegetable shortening) as needed to make almond bark smooth
1- 8 oz pkg cream cheese, softened
1 pkg Oreo cookies, grind fine in food processor
Chocolate chips/baking bark (for drizzle)
Directions:
Melt white almond bark in double boiler. Add Crisco, 1/2 teaspoon at a time to make mixture smooth (do not add liquid oil or water as it will clump). In another bowl, mix Oreos with cream cheese. Use mall scoop to make small balls. Place in freezer for 15 minutes. Dip in melted almond bark & place on wax paper.
For drizzle: Melt chocolate chips & drizzle over white Oreo truffles with frosting bag/spoon.
Variation: Use mint Oreos & dip in white chocolate/almond bare. The are more difficult because they are double stuffed (hard to form). Add 1 drop green food coloring to white chocolate/almond bark.
Enjoy!

Inspiration
I love clean white spaces with a touch of Icy blue. They are gorgeous, simple, and fun, all at the same time! Here are a few of my favorites saved in my inspiration folder.
{From House Beautiful}
I’m loving the overall neutral feel of this room paired with hints of ice blue and apple green!

This room also feels pretty neutral, but the ceiling is fabulous. LOVE it!

Oh my! Love the warm wood tones and blue back painted glass bar. Absolutely gorgeous!

Space Redesigns
Hello everyone! I hope you’re ready for a fun-filled holiday week! We are loving the snow on the ground here in the Midwest and are excited to spend the holidays with family and loved ones. Here’s a mood board of a fun living room for this Monday’s redesign.
I really like this mood board a lot, if I do say so myself. I’m trying to convince my husband that we need to start all over in the living room and turn it into something like this. Of course, he just looks at me– he’s realize by now that I say this about every six months. It’s the joy of living with someone creative, right? I always have to be changing my surroundings.
Here’s a break down of the goodies:
- This sofa is perfect for this room. Simple and modern and light. I love it! I have placed some accent pillows on the couch to bring in the other colors of the room. {Don’t you just love this mix of reds and blues?!}. You can find the pillows here, here and here.
- These Neo Bunching Cubes work perfectly for end tables and open storage. I imagine a stack of books, or magazines housed in them. They are so open, yet sturdy.
- Don’t you just love the natural feel of this coffee table? I think it’s beautiful! It provides a little texture in the room and compliments everything very well.
- This rug is gorgeous, no? It’s made by Madeline Weinrib Atelier. She has such a great collection of rugs… I could take one of each, really.
- This little birdie vase is a perfect accent for one of the bunching cubes.
- This print would be perfect placed above the sofa, or above the little birdie vase if you had a window above your sofa. It’s a cheery motto to have posted in a place where everyone can see it.
- I absolutely love this lamp. It’s classy and fun all at the same time.
I hope you enjoyed this living room mood board. Don’t forget to enter the It’s Complicated giveaway– it ends today!
