Have you heard the news? Amy Butler is launching her wallpaper line with Graham & Brown later this month at ICFF. And thanks to Apartment Therapy, we all get a sneak peek.

As we all know, I love Amy Butler and her incredible designs so I couldn’t be more excited about this! Check out this Q & A we did with Amy a few months ago. She is so charming!
I hope you all have a great weekend and I would like to wish a Happy Mother’s Day to all you hard working mothers out there. I sure hope you get the chance to kick back and ponder on what a great blessing it is to be a mom. I was in tears when I saw this incredible and touching video earlier this week. {Thank you NieNie for your gentle guidance and always putting things in perspective}. I feel like sometimes I let the day to day tasks get the better of me. When really, life is so much more than that. It is such a great honor to be a mom. So let’s celebrate!

Completing a remodel or new construction project inevitably produces a need for LOTS of materials, unfortunately lots of waste as well. I’ve compiled a few of my favorite materials that use sustainable or recycled products in honor of Earth Day today.
Recycled Glass tile from Sandhill Glass Tile. Their tiles are made from 100% recycled glass!

Bamboo flooring from Bamboo Hardwoods. This is a very sustainable, fast growing resource.
Recycled outdoor furniture from Ultimate Patio. This furniture is made from recycled plastic!

Reclaimed wood flooring from Pioneer Millworks. They find and reclaim old wood and will use it as new flooring for your home.

It’s time for many to start your gardens! Need to label which rows have what planted in them? Here are a few favorites I’ve seen recently:

Foil Printed garden markers from the Modern Gardener.

Garden markers made with vintage silverware from the Etsy seller Monkey’s Always Look .

Copper leaf markers from Etsy seller JCraneJewelry.
Have any big plans for your garden this year? Trying something new? We’d love to hear about it! Have a great weekend!

I’ve always loved glass mosaic tiles! Their glossy and almost ethereal look always mesmerizes me! I cannot wait to visit Italy this summer to see some gorgeous mosaics that are hundreds, if not thousands, of years old. One particular example is from the Florence Baptistery:

This is the ceiling. No, it’s not painted, it’s glass mosaics, many of the pieces are the size of your pinkie finger nail. So tiny but so effective as a whole! (Click on the photo to take you to the source.)

This is a close up…still looks a lot like a painting, but it’s mosaics! Amazing! (Click on the photo for source.)
I ran across this more modern company, New Ravenna Mosaics, and absolutely fell in love with their product! Here are a few of my favorites from their gallery:

P.S. I’ve got a pretty good list of things to see and do in Florence and Rome but if anyone has a favorite store, restaurant, or overlooked site that I must visit please let me know!
