Monday Redesign-Summer Inspired

Plenty of us are trying desperately to find any resemblance of green in the frigid temperatures and vast amounts of snow we’ve been getting!  I wanted something bright and warm for today’s redesign:

BrightSummer

1. Amy Butler fabric: Trumpet Flowers in Emerald for some beautiful full length curtains.

2. Wall Paint and Ceiling Paint from Sherwin Williams – Wall: SW 7028Incredible White Ceiling: SW6702 Lively Yellow.  Yep, Keep white on the walls, and add some fun color on the ceiling with the beautiful summery yellow-green!

3. Feelin’ Groovy Carpet tiles from Flor-These are easily changed out so if purple isn’t quite your thing, try a white or lime green.

4. Recycled Timber Multi Frame by MarkMay-Loving the more rustic feel and the warmth this frame provides with all the more bright, modern colors.

5. Karlstad Sofa with Chaise from IKEA-Keep it a neutral soft white and let the accent pillows and other colors be the main focus.

6. Accent Pillows from coordinating Amy Butler fabric: Bali Gate and Stone Path.  Add some pop to the white sofa with these beautiful fabrics!

Monday Redesign: Cozy & Modern Bedroom

Happy Monday everyone!  Snow is falling on the ground here.  It’s beautiful!  {And cold}.  I want nothing more than to snuggle with my little one curled on the couch today.  So here is a bedroom redesign with modern and cozy tones.
Bedroom Redesign

And now for a break down of the goodies:

  1. This is one of my favorite color palettes.  It’s very neutral and timeless.  And I love green.  Green is refreshing and easy on the eyes.  It promotes an energy comfort, peace and balance in a room… which is so perfect for the bedroom.  I suggest painting the walls this olive green color from Diamond Vogel.  It’s called Sandalwood Tan (8479).  If you don’t have a Diamond Vogel near you and would like the color specifics, just give me a shout.
  2. This bed from Crate and Barrel is simple and perfect and fits the bill too.  Isn’t it lovely?
  3. And the bedding on top from 2 Modern fits with the color palette perfectly.
  4. I love this chair from Room & Board.  It fits perfectly in this bedroom.  It adds texture and is visually stimulating.
  5. This framed sea fan would be a great compliment to the room above the chair, nestled in a corner of the bedroom.
  6. A set of these lamps on matching end tables on each side of the bed would help balance the room and also give extra lighting when you need it.
  7. And these sheer white drapes help the room feel cozy, light and airy.

I hope you’ve enjoyed this bedroom redesign and have found it inspiring and helpful.  If you need a little extra help with your space, we have good news!  We are wishing you a happy holiday season……Redesign DiscountWe are running a holiday special here at Fresh Nest Design!  $50 off our mood board redesigns.  We have appreciated all of our readers so much and would like to thank you for coming back day after day.  There is no way we could do it without you!  Purchase a redesign for yourself, a loved one, or a friend!  Our goal here is to help anyone and everyone love the space they are in. Monday Redesign: Amy’s Bathroom

Remember Amy’s bathroom that we reviewed on Friday? Well I’m here to start this Monday off with a Redesign for her. And I’m pretty excited too, because I really love this color palette. Here’s a mood board of the goodies:

Bathroom Redesign

And now for a breakdown:

  1. The wall color I choose is Nomadic Desert SW6107 by Sherwin Williams.  It should be light enough that you don’t see any streaks on the walls after the children have taken a bath.
  2. This vinyl flooring is from Armstrong and I love the deep and rich colors.  Doesn’t it give such a great foundation to the room?  It can be found at Home Depot or Lowe’s.
  3. I love this shower curtain from Walmart and how it ties the whole color palette together.  I know what you’re thinking…. “but we don’t even have a shower”.  I know, I know, but stick with me on this one.  It will help tie the room together and make it look more polished.  And nothing is easier than closing the curtain and leaving all the children’s toys in the tub rather than cleaning them up.
  4. I recommend getting a new clean white top for your vanity.  But before you put it on, I recommend stripping the vanity cabinet and mirror and staining it in a darker color to give the bathroom a more modern feel.
  5. Then add some modern lighting like this from Target.  This will make the entire bathroom feel different.
  6. Who doesn’t love new, plush towels?  Well, I am adding some chocolate brown towels to accent the new look of the bathroom.
  7. Above the toilet, I would add some boxes.  You can either get them at cb2 or make your own by purchasing some blocks from your local craft store and painting them.

Amy, I hope you enjoy your redesign and the look of your new bathroom!  Thanks for giving me the opportunity to help you out.

Redesign After: Camana’s Living Room

Remember the Camana’s Living Room from Friday?  Here is their finished room design!

FloorPlan

Living Room Redesign

1. Chocolate Velvet Slipper Chairs from Target

2. Incognito Compact Desk from Crate and Barrel-This desk is great because it has plenty of storage and workspace, but when needed, can close up completely and look like an accent piece instead.

3. Modern Rock Wool Rug from Overstock.com.  This rug brings in some color and a simple pattern to pull the space together.

4. Tambe Walnut Coffee Table from Crate and Barrel-This beautiful walnut coffee table brings some of the earthy element into the space that the Camana’s wanted.

5. Arlington Sofa upholstered in Caramel Twill from Pottery Barn

6. Retro Wall Canvases from Etsy seller Marie’s Cosy Cushions

7. Media Stand from Crate and Barrel

8. Carmen Pillow in Teal and Chartreuse from Crate and Barrel-We’ll bring in a little more color to the seating by adding these beautiful pillows.  They provide some great colors and bringing in subtle texture.

9. Gorgeous velvet window panels from West Elm.  This will warm up the walls which, since they are currently renting, cannot be painted.  (Or try JcPenney’s for the same ones at a little better price.)

10. Aspelund Wardrobe from IKEA, Painted Espresso Brown.  They don’t have any storage space for jackets and boots, so this will give them a nice piece that can double as a coat closet.

11. Sphere Table Lamp from West Elm placed on the circle end tables they already have.

Overall, the space accomplished all their goals AND stayed under their budget!  Thanks so much for letting us assist you in your living room design!

Before & After Kitchen

Before & After Kitchen

We loving receiving before and after in our inbox.  They are so fun and inspiring.  Scott and his wife, Leyla have been busy remodeling their 1910 Victorian home since 2006.  Can you imagine the dust now?!  I think the transformation is so wonderful! It’s so clean and crisp!  I don’t think I would have a problem baking in this kitchen.
