There are lots of resources to help you when designing your own home! Here are a few of my favorites:
Ever been out and about and wondered what color they used on the wall or what color is on that accent pillow? Try the new iPhone and iPad Touch app from Pantone:

It will allow you to take any photograph and create a color palette with it on the go!
Also try Google SketchUp for laying out your floor plan! It allows you to see it in 3D so you can tell right away if that bookcase is too small or that artwork is too large for your wall. (It also helps when you decide that you want to rip out a wall and open up the space but your husband just can’t seem to see your vision!)

Sherwin-Williams has a great tool called the color visualizer. You can use their image or upload one of their own and basically paint the walls to see what color you’d like to use. There’s also a coupon you can print out and take in when you buy your paint!

Have any resources you like to use? Let us know!

Pretty Stuff
Remember a little while ago when I highlighted some awesome modern cleaning supplies? Here’s some modern tools that are just as awesome!

This is a new ladder design from CIMA. I LOVE how little room it takes up! It will slip so easily between bookshelves, behind a door, under a bed… It’s made from sturdy carbon fiber composite materials, so even though it only weighs 1kg (or a little under 2 1/2 lbs.) it is sturdy enough for just about anybody to step on!

This is a little precision cutter (think X-Acto knife) from one of my favorite designers, Karim Rashid. I think that my interior design projects back from my school days would have been much more fun with a blade like this!

Right now our new apartment has the ugly radiators (you know which ones I’m talking about!) I wish they had this lovely modern radiator pictured above! You can’t see it? It’s the cool looking green wall art! Love it when form meets function! (Yes it’s also from Karim…sorry, can’t help myself!)
